Romain Hénin is one of this new generation of Champagne grower to watch – after graduating in viticulture in Avize, he was trained for 2 years at Domaine Henri Giraud in Aÿ, growing its interest from organic and biodynamic principles. While working at the Hénin family estate, Romain gradually set up his own domaine of 1.2 hectares since 2016, with a successful conversion to revive the soils. With only 1300 bottles produced each vintage (equivalent of 5 barrels!) for now, this is a gem to watch, even more since he has fully acquired the family estate in 2021, with a strong commitment to convert and revamp it at its image.
